Athletics Equipment Assistant

Choate Rosemary Hall has an opening for a part time Athletics Equipment Assistant.  This role’s primary function is to support the mission of the Athletics department by providing excellent customer service to visitors, assist equipment room employees, and monitor safety and use of the Worthington Johnson Athletics Center. 

This role is scheduled for 25 hours per week, with rotating Saturday shifts during the school year (August-June) and is eligible for benefits.  



  • Assist with ongoing recordkeeping of items issued, returned, and charged (when damaged or lost).
  • Assist with the inspection, maintenance, and repair of athletic equipment and clothing.
  • Fit equipment for athletes for specific sports.
  • Ensure that all activities are done safely and in accordance with the rules and guidelines of the activity.
  • Assist with game clock duties for various sports.
  • Perform uniform laundry services and some custodial duties. 
  • Provide back-up support for athletic center operations.


  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Basic knowledge with athletic equipment necessary for all interscholastic/intramural sports.
  • Recently completed Adult CPR and AED training preferred; training will be provided if necessary.
  • Work well independently.
