Senior Associate Director, Parent Giving
The Senior Associate Director, Parent Giving manages a parent giving program that serves to increase philanthropic engagement and support from Choate parents. This position will act as a key member of a dynamic Annual Fund team, working within the larger context of the school’s Development and Alumni Relations efforts.
This position is full-time, exempt, scheduled year-round, and is benefits eligible. Some evening and weekend work is required.
- Cultivate, solicit, and close annual gifts from a select portfolio of parent prospects and donors.
- Focus extensively on face-to-face fundraising seeking unrestricted support for the School’s Annual Fund and identify opportunities to solicit contributions to institutionally defined capital priority areas.
- Attain an annual visit goal and achieve personal and team revenue goals.
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of Choate’s strategic priorities and goals.
- Plan gatherings to engage, cultivate, and steward parent donors.
- Recruit, educate, and manage parent giving volunteers and organize phonathons or other opportunities for volunteers.
- Partner with the Development leadership team to ensure high-level cultivation and solicitation of parent community.
- Assist at a variety of events throughout the year including: Drop off and Parents Weekend, Reunion Weekend, donor recognition celebrations, campaign events, etc.
- Build strategic and collaborative relationships with partners across the Choate community.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 3-5 years of frontline, donor facing solicitation experience preferably in higher or secondary education.
- Collaborative and communicative contributor.
- Goal oriented and metrics and data driven.
- Excellent verbal and writing skills.
- Occasional travel for events and prospect meetings.
